The best four places to eat Bakso, according to yours truly
Despite the rainy season having reached its peak in February, it is still predicted that it will be raining cats and dogs this month in Jakarta. With the weather as such, a warm bowl ofBakso (meatballs) would be the perfect remedy to cure your wet-weather blues. I’m sure many of you will agree with me on this one, especially when traffic congestions can be at an all-time high during these times. Motorists can find the perfect excuse to have someBakso when they need to take a break from the road by making a quick stopover at awarung Bakso. Here are four of the best in Jakarta that I believe you should have a go at.
With so many Bakso joints across the city, the one that tops my list is Bakso Titoti. One of its outlets can be found on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, where you can indulge yourself in some heavenly juicy meatballs.

Soto Mie Bakso Sarodja
Starting off as a travelling Bakso peddler in 1970, Soto Mie Bakso Sarodja has managed to turn its fortune through hard work and sheer determination. It now has outlets in a number of prominent shopping malls in the city. Try out its tasty mix of noodles, rice vermicelli, potato, Cakwe, beef chunks, and Bakso – all immersed in a refreshing bowl of beef broth – and find out the recipe to its success by yourself.

Mie Ayam Bakso Yunus
If you’re stuck in a jam over in Pancoran, my suggestion would be for you to take a detour to Mie Ayam Bakso Yunus in Tebet and treat yourself to a bowl of its alluring speciality. Its succulent Mie Ayam (chicken noodles), which is served alongside the Bakso, provides the perfect companion to the meatballs.
